FAQs

Do silk eye masks work?

Not only are silk eye masks great at blocking out light interference that can stop you from sleeping, but they also have plenty of extra benefits. Mulberry silk does not absorb your skincare products, so it won’t steal away all that goodness from your skin! Its softness can help slow down skin ageing and is also naturally antibacterial to keep your skin smooth and clear.

Can you wear a silk eye mask with eyelash extensions?

Yes! Because mulberry silk is an incredibly soft and delicate material, it will contour over your eye area without rubbing or irritating eyelash extensions. The surface of mulberry silk fabric is soft and cuts down on friction, making it an excellent option for protecting hair follicles. In much the same way a silk pillowcase protects your tresses from breakage or pulling, a silk eye mask protects your extensions and extends their life.

How do you wash silk eye masks?

If you think your silk sleep mask needs to be cleaned or you’ve noticed some dirt or buildup on the surface, you can easily hand wash it to bring it back to its best

To wash your eye mask, simply follow these steps:

  1. Fill a bucket or basin with warm water (no hotter than 30ºC) and completely submerge the silk eye mask, allowing it to become saturated.
  2. Using a natural pH-balanced detergent designed for silk (and that is free of bleach or enzymes), mix a quarter scoop into the water and allow it to dissolve.
  3. Allow the mask to soak for 30 minutes.
  4. Empty the basin or bucket and rinse your silk sleep mask until the water runs clear.
  5. Hang in the shade to dry.

How often do you wash silk eye masks?

You should immediately wash your silk eye mask if you notice any stains or discolouration. Otherwise, cleaning it as often as you change your sheets is a good rule of thumb. Because high-quality mulberry silk doesn’t absorb your skincare or other substances, it doesn’t need to be washed as often as an item you wear during the day.
